Pets in Loftia

Pets arrive with Early Access, not the demo. Here is what the official pages confirm — and what they leave out.

The short version

Pets are an Early Access feature, not a demo feature. The official pages confirm adoption, care, petting, dress-up and friendship. Capybaras and turtles are named; the full species list, adoption costs and any gameplay effects are not published.

What is confirmed

  • Early Access lets you “adopt the cutest and cuddliest pets who will join you on your journey throughout Loftia.”
  • You can “take care of them, pet them, dress them up, and grow your friendship with them.”
  • Steam names capybaras and turtles, then adds “other unique species.”
  • Pets can accompany you and be dressed up.
  • The cosmetic shop sells pet accessories and styles; the official FAQ says optional purchases are cosmetic only.
Only actions named by official sources are listed. We do not infer stats, feeding systems or breeding.

What we do not know

Do not plan around these

The complete species list, adoption cost and location, friendship rewards, pet stats, whether pets help farming or foraging, breeding, pet housing limits and whether pets can be lost are not published. We have not verified any of them.

A practical launch checklist

  • Wait for 3 November 2026; pet ownership is not in the demo.
  • Do not buy a cosmetic pet accessory before you have a pet. The shop is cosmetic-only, but it is still a purchase.
  • Check the in-game pet UI for care needs; the official pages do not publish a feeding or happiness system.
  • Keep the pet’s name and any adoption quest in your own notes; there is no published pet database.
  • If a guide gives you a pet stat or a “best pet,” ask for its source and build date. We have not found one.

Where pets fit

Pets are part of the cozy, social layer: adoption, care, dress-up and companionship. The official pages do not describe combat, farming bonuses or resource generation from pets. Treat them as a cosmetic and relationship system until the Early Access build shows otherwise.

For the systems they might touch, see housing and neighborhoods, items and cosmetics, and co-op. Pet accessories are in the same cosmetic category as outfits and furniture.
