Playing together
Adventures, World Projects, Community Farm runs and what “as many friends as you’d like” really means.
Loftia is an online MMO with group quests, shared neighborhoods and World Projects. Solo play works, but you are always online. The official FAQ does not publish a numeric player cap or promise cross-play.
What is confirmed
- Steam lists MMO and online co-op; the FAQ says an internet connection is required.
- You can join with “as many friends as you’d like,” according to the FAQ — but no numeric cap is stated.
- Playing alone will not block your progress; solo players can access almost all content.
- Group content includes group quests, Adventures, social minigames and World Projects.
- Cross-play is “something we’re aiming for,” but the FAQ says it cannot be promised yet.
- Each platform requires a separate purchase.

Adventures and Scrambled Coordinates
Adventures are the most concrete co-op loop in the demo. Each run costs 3 Scrambled Coordinates and takes place on a Research Island with timed objectives. The layout changes every run, and some tasks require two players, though much of an Adventure can be done alone. The demo’s Ryder quest, “Adventure Awaits!”, rewards 15 coordinates — enough for five more runs.
Coordinates come from 12 gathering and salvage nodes plus the Daily Goodies Chest. There are no official drop rates, and no node is proven faster. Cella’s Key Shop sells them for 30 Dew each, but that shop is tied to “The Real Treasure” side quest and is not needed for Ryder’s first Adventure.
World Projects
World Projects are shared goals that the whole server contributes to. The demo’s first project is Pebble’s Birthday Party, which lands on 3 November. Early Access projects include rebuilding the Loftia City Dome and constructing more renewable energy sources. Contributions can unlock resources, stories and islands.
A Community Pass adds a premium cosmetic reward track alongside the standard track available to everyone. The official Early Access page says pass rewards do not expire, and the game will not have gacha mechanics. Buying the pass is optional and cosmetic-only.
Community Farm
The Hanging Gardens Community Farm is the repeatable group farming event. A beta-era guide describes it as hourly, with sign-up five minutes before the hour, up to 10 players, four event slots and a board requesting up to four of eight crops. Rewards include Dew, skill points, seeds and clothing fragments. Team ranks run from F to S; higher ranks can award rarer seeds.
Those numbers are beta data. The event is in the Hanging Gardens, which the demo does not reach, so you will not see it until Early Access.
Neighborhood etiquette
Shared space does not mean shared consent. Set your plot to private or friends-only before a tour, block visitors from energy stations and farms unless you mean to share them, and remove visitors who ignore the setting. The 23 October patch fixed group neighborhood travel and newly available neighborhood space detection, so the plumbing is improving — but permissions are still yours to set.
What is not published
- The maximum number of players in a server, neighborhood or Adventure group.
- Whether cross-play will ship at launch (the FAQ says it is only an aim).
- How matchmaking works for Adventures beyond joining friends.
- Whether Community Pass rewards rotate or return after a season.
