The map, district by district

Loftia City, the Hanging Gardens and the Gridfall — plus where the demo stops.

The short version

Early Access spans three regions: Loftia City, the Hanging Gardens and the Gridfall. The demo only covers the opening of Loftia City and ends just before the Hanging Gardens. Press M for the in-game map; it starts clouded and reveals as you explore.

Our own schematic of the three Early Access regions. It is a relationship diagram, not a game map; the interactive community maps have the node-level detail.

The three regions

Official region summaries plus community world notes. Sub-area names are community-reported.

Loftia City

Loftia City is the demo’s entire playable region. The opening questline runs from Pebble’s tour through Hazel’s plot, Cliff’s glider sequence and Amani’s daily quest. The city is also where you meet Amani (permits) and Kun (sugar).

Community notes describe the Freefolk District as the main square with the Study Cafe, Bakery and Boba Shop, plus a Tech Hub. Those sub-area names are useful orientation, not official map labels. The demo’s Player Neighborhood is part of the city loop.

The Hanging Gardens

The Hanging Gardens is the second district and the point where the demo stops. The official page describes a peaceful floating island with lush greenery, cozy fishing spots, community farms and a mysterious dark forest. Windmill Island is reported as the Hanging Gardens seed shop location. The Community Farm event is here, which is why it is an Early Access activity.

The Gridfall

The Gridfall is the salvaging district: a punk-inspired industrial area with air rails, skyscrapers, a museum built from shipping containers, dancing locals and secret underground tunnels. The official page names the museum and the tunnels; community notes add Patchwork Plaza, kinetic dance pads, old subway tunnels and a hydroponics area associated with Dr. Marie. The Urbex tool is the Gridfall’s special tool for collecting rare resources underground.

Adventures and Research Islands

Adventures take place on Research Islands outside the main districts. Each run costs 3 Scrambled Coordinates, has timed objectives, and changes layout every time — objects are relocated, so a map from one run is not a route for the next. Some tasks require two players, though much of an Adventure can be done alone. This is why an “Adventure map” is a contradiction: the layout is intentionally unstable.

Using the in-game map

  • M opens the map. It starts clouded and reveals as you explore.
  • Key NPCs and quest exclamation marks are shown.
  • In the demo, right-clicking an NPC places a tracking pin.
  • The sources do not describe a fast-travel menu. The Air Tram and the glider are the movement systems they do name.

For node-level detail, the community Loftia Maps project has separate beta maps for all three districts. It is based on beta data, so expect changes at Early Access.

What is not published

  • Exact district dimensions, fast-travel rules and map completion rewards.
  • A full NPC and shop directory.
  • Whether the Hanging Gardens and Gridfall open simultaneously at Early Access.
  • Any map of the Research Islands that stays valid between runs.

Sources and checks

Checked 2026-10-23. Factual claims are drawn from the sources below; demo and beta values are labelled because they may change at Early Access. Recommendations are ours.

Official region summaries; demo boundary from the official demo page; sub-area names and map details from community notes.
