Housing and neighborhoods
Your plot, the shared neighborhood, decorating and the guest settings that stop a visitor draining your power.
Your home is a plot on a floating island. You can decorate it, develop the island and link it with other players to form a neighborhood. The sharing is real: guests can harvest and use your power until you change permissions.
Your first plot
Pebble’s opening chain gives you a plot in the Player Neighborhood. Each plot starts with its own copy of the starter materials and one storage chest that sorts items into categories automatically. Items have caps; 20 Clay was an early example. The Expanded Chest perk, under the crafting section of Progression, raises those caps.
B opens the inventory and lets you place plot items. Your first placements should be practical: a water station by the crops, the energy station you are allowed, and the storage chest where you will actually use it. Decoration can wait until the battery is stable.
The home island
The official store page describes creating a character, designing a home and developing your own floating island. The demo’s decorating feature covers furniture placement inside the house; Decorate Mode also opens outside it. The 23 October patch fixed furniture being blocked by the floor inside the house, large default trees becoming impossible to place after being picked up, and Decorate Mode sometimes failing to open outside the house.
Furniture is also a cosmetic category in the optional shop. The official FAQ says optional purchases are cosmetic only and do not affect gameplay. That matters for planning: a prettier chair is not a progression shortcut.
Neighborhoods and shared space
You can link your island with other players to form neighborhoods and shared spaces. The shared space supports decorating, farming and crafting. A neighbor’s plot has its own starter-material copy; if you take their duplicate, it disappears only on your side. This is deliberate: the neighborhood is not a shared wallet.
Group neighborhood travel had a demo bug where it repeatedly failed or returned players to the login screen; the 23 October patch fixed it. House Showcase travel and reward collection also received fixes in the same patch.
Permissions: the part nobody reads
In the demo, permissions live under B → Tab (or X on a controller) → V. You can set the plot private or friends-only to stop harvesting, and separately block visitors from using your energy stations or farm. Visitors can drain power from an unblocked station. You can remove visitors from the same menu.
Guest permissions are reported from the demo. The default may be friendlier than you expect. If you are hosting a tour, set the plot to friends-only first, then open the specific station or farm you want to share.
Permits and placeables
Amani sells permits for “other placeables” as well as garden beds, trellises, tree plots and stations. The beta path runs 20 → 40 → 60 → 80 → 100 placeables for 500 · 2,000 · 5,000 · 10,000 Dew. The first tier is cheap; the later tiers are a long-term sink. Do not buy a decoration permit before you have the battery and the processing station you actually use.
House Showcase
The demo includes a House Showcase with travel and reward collection. The 23 October patch fixed travel to House Showcase results and reward collection. We do not have verified rules for how entries are ranked or how often the showcase rotates, so we are not publishing a “best house” strategy.
What is not published
- House tiers, expansion costs and maximum room count.
- Whether neighborhoods have a fixed member limit.
- How shared ownership works if the island owner stops playing.
- The full furniture catalogue and which items are craftable versus shop-only.
Those gaps are marked unverified. A housing guide that invents a “best layout” before the game is live is selling confidence, not information.
